Seating at First Avenue
First Avenue is a legendary general admission, standing room only concert venue in Minneapolis, MN, with a Mainroom capacity of approximately 1,600. There are no reserved seats in the Mainroom for standard events.
Seating Options
- General Admission Floor – Open standing room floor; first-come, first-served positioning
- Balcony Seating – Limited seating available on the balcony level on a first-come, first-served basis; balcony tables are reserved for First Avenue Members (Gold and Platinum level)
We recommend arriving early to secure your preferred spot on the floor. Balcony table reservations are available through the First Avenue Membership Program at first-avenue.com/about/memberships.
Parking Near First Avenue
First Avenue does not have an official parking lot. We recommend planning ahead and arriving early, especially on busy event nights.
Nearby Parking Options
- Surface Lot – Located behind the venue at 1st Avenue & 8th Street (closest option)
- Mayo Building Underground Ramp – Across the street on 7th Street
- A, B, and C Ramps – A few blocks from the venue; accessible elevators to street level available
- Metered Street Parking – Available throughout the surrounding downtown area

Box Office Information
First Avenue's ticket sales are handled through The Depot Tavern, located next door to First Avenue and 7th St Entry. The Depot Tavern is open Wednesday through Saturday, 4:00 PM – 11:00 PM, and on show nights when an event is happening in the Mainroom.
Purchasing Tickets
Tickets are sold online through AXS (the official ticketing partner at first-avenue.com). Physical tickets can be purchased at The Depot Tavern for a reduced $3 service fee per ticket.
